Review - Oppenheimer
Lieutenant Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appointed physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years gathering knowledges and brilliant scientist in purposes to developing and designing the atomic bomb During World War II. The film featured by famous actor/actress, Cillian Murphy as J Robert Oppenheimer, Emily Bunt as Katherine Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Leslie Groves, Robert Downey Jr as Lewis Strauss, Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock, Josh Hartnett as Ernest Lawrence, Casey Affleck as Boris Pash, Rami Malek as David Hill, Kenneth Branagh as Niels Bohr, Dylan Arnold as Frank Oppenheimer, Gustaf Skarsgård as Hans Bethe & Tom Conti as Albert Einstein.
This is clearly Murphy's exposition. His performance is genuine and authentic, devoid of any theatricality that might cheapen the experience. He deserved this spot where he is right now. His best work ever. I can't imagine a single out every other actors work here the list wouldn't stop. Robert Downey Jr. is damn so shines in his role, showcasing the full range of his acting abilities despite having limited screen time. Meanwhile, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt both deliver exceptional performances as support, contributing significantly to the movie's excellence. Not a single actor misses the mark in this ensemble cast, including Alden Ehrenreich, Kenneth Branagh, Florence Pugh, and the previously mentioned Rami Malek has done an enormous works. There is a risk that with a three hour film some of this impact can be lost and bogged down in unnecessary details. Personally, it was the dialogue between the character. it is defined so quick pace, I'm overwhelmed. The final phase of the film is the best part. I feel the real intense, beautiful, depth and mind blow features. Christopher Nolan's creative use of non-linear storytelling combined with expert sound design with beautifully execute and editing to up a sense of urgency that ensures the film flow by and never loses its impact.
Christopher Nolan has outdone himself. This film will become known as his greatest work. He blends magnificent set design, compelling dialog, outstanding cinematography, and very fine acting into a lasting biopic masterpiece. In best conclusion, "Oppenheimer" may not appeal to everyone, but it was a genius and also a complicated that delivered by intelligence, feels and souls. Surely Oscar nominations are coming to for Nolan for direction and screenplay and a slew of other technical categories, none more so than sound, the extra cost of the IMAX ticket was worth it for the sound alone.
